We believe that alone we cannot achieve our bold vision. It requires collaboration and partnership at all levels. We build and strengthen transformative strategic partnership and impactful solidarity for the long term.

National Networks

UNE belongs to two powerful networks of power-building organizations doing similar work across the country. These networks provide strategic support including shared fundraising and other leveraged resources.

PowerSwitch Action

PowerSwitch Action (formerly the Partnership for Working Families) is a network of 20 grassroots affiliates that weave strategic alliances and alignments amongst labor, neighborhood, housing, racial justice, faith, ethnic-based, and environmental organizations. Together, we’re building the people power and people’s institutions to realize our collective freedom and liberation.

The Center for Popular Democracy

The Center for Popular Democracy works to create equity, opportunity and a dynamic democracy in partnership with high-impact base-building organizations, organizing alliances, and progressive unions. The CPD network builds not only stronger organizations, but also trains and supports organizational leaders, staff, and members to be the true owners and drivers of those organizations and our broader movement for pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice.

Fiscally Sponsored Projects

Many amazing projects in our communities do crucial work honoring the voices, experiences and leadership of low-income people, people of color and others targeted by systems of oppression. In many cases, these projects are smaller operations that can better accomplish their mission by focusing resources on their programs, rather than building out a full nonprofit operation and organizational structure.

In living into our commitment to build lasting progressive infrastructure and uplifting the leadership of women of color in the Colorado justice movement, UNE serves as fiscal sponsor and provides back office services at low cost to ensure these projects are able to deliver on their missions.

Colorado Homes for All (COHFA)

United for A New Economy and 9 to 5 Colorado co-chair a bold and innovative grassroots housing coalition called Colorado Homes for All (COHFA). United in our fight for housing as a human right, the organizations that make up COHFA are committed to securing affordable, sustainable, and community-centered housing for all Coloradans. COHFA is creating a movement that will put the power back in the hands of renters and will take bold action to create more renters’ protections in the state of Colorado.

COHFA believes that all people should have safe and affordable housing. The state ban on rent control and limitation on renter’s protections are part of the corporate agenda and present huge obstacles that stand in the way of this vision. The organizations that make up COHFA are coming together as a community to rewrite the rules, regulate rents, and build options people can actually afford to ensure all Coloradans have a place to call home.

End Slavery Colorado

End Slavery Colorado is a collaborative table of individuals and partner organizations building a movement to end the practice of forced labor and low wages in the Colorado carceral system. Our objective is to move forward legislation to amend and remove statutes that are in direct conflict with the 2018 amendment to Article II, Section 26 of the Colorado Constitution.

Transformative Leadership for Change

TLC was built by and for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) leaders to transform ourselves, our organizations and the larger movement ecosystem so we can thrive in our leadership, build real power for our communities and see our visions of liberation come to life. Our core program is a year-long fellowship for BIPOC leaders in Colorado-based social justice organizations.
