Lorrine Banzie
Office Manager | she/her/hers
Lorrine is the Office Manager for UNE. She manages day-to-day organizational operations, including essential administrative, bookkeeping, finance, and event and human resources support. Lorrine ensures that UNE has flawless audits, accurate HR files, and tight checks and balances. Additionally, she supports the logistics of UNE’s on-the-ground organizing.
Lorrine’s passion for UNE’s work for justice stems from her personal experience as an immigrant. She came to the United States in 2000 for a better life and to protect her family in the midst of Zimbabwe’s internal military conflict. Before working at UNE, Lorrine led her office coworkers at Union Taxi to win a union contract demanding dignity and respect for their administrative work. These defining moments in Lorrine’s life guide her work at UNE where she uses her relational skills and attention to detail to make UNE’s mission a reality with flawless timely logistics and efficient office operations.
Lorrine brings decades of experience in office administration. Prior to UNE, she worked for a number of transportation companies in Denver, including Union Taxi, Yellow Cab and Super Shuttle, where she was responsible for payroll, human resources, accounts payable and compliance, and created new systems that improved efficiency, reducing unnecessary fines and audits. Since joining UNE’s staff, she has developed numerous internal practices that have improved the efficiency of UNE’s operations, most especially in the areas of finance and human resources.
